The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) was honored to host the official visit of a delegation from the European Court of Auditors (ECA), within the framework of interinstitutional dialogue on cooperation in the field of external public audit and support for the European integration path of the Republic of Moldova. The ECA delegation was led by Laima Liucija Andrikienė, Member of the European Court of Auditors, accompanied by Tomas Mackevicius, Head of Chamber, Ainhoa Perez-Infante, Assistant, and Stephen Stork, Head of the Finance Division. During the official meeting with Tatiana Șevciuc, President of the Court of Accounts, essential issues were discussed regarding the role of the Supreme Audit Institution in the Republic of Moldova’s EU accession process, as well as the progress made by CoARM in aligning with European audit standards. The meeting highlighted key initiatives included in the National EU Accession Program (2025–2029) and the Action Plan for implementing the recommendations from the 2023 SIGMA Monitoring Report. These initiatives focus on strengthening the institutional independence of the Court of Accounts, developing the professional capacities of public auditors, digitizing the audit process, and optimizing the mechanism for tracking the implementation of recommendations. The discussion also addressed the Reform Agenda related to the Republic of Moldova Growth Plan (2025–2027), in which strengthening external public audit is a key objective. The undertaken measures include revising the regulatory framework to ensure the financial independence of the Court of Accounts, increasing the share of performance audits, and improving the rate of implementation of recommendations issued through audit missions. Also mentioned was the fruitful collaboration between CoARM and the European Court of Auditors through the participation of two CoARM auditors in the internship program organized by the ECA. These internships offered valuable opportunities to strengthen professional skills and become familiar with European best practices in the field of external public audit. It is worth noting that the ECA mission in the Republic of Moldova is taking place in the context of preparing the annual report of the European Court of Auditors on the use of European funds in beneficiary countries. # CCRM
